Bottle thanks to Leighton during RBESG Sunday Tasting. It pours darkest brown with minimal head. The nose is the best part...medicinal, cough syrup, peaty whisky and smoke. The taste is tangy dark fruits, raisin, medicinal, band-aids, soy sauce, dirt, big woody character, earthy, leather, vinegar and mouldy wood . Medium body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A bit of a car crash.

Bottle - Peat and smoke. Jet black with no head. Tastes like peat and smoke with a body like water. Ruin an Islay? How is it so?

Bottle at RBESG; dark brown pour zero head, big Islay aroma, overpower whiskey taste, dark fruits, dislike this beer.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Nice bottle - a stubby 750, the most pleasing aspect of this series of beers!!! Light black with thin tan edgeing. Nose is roast malts, liqourice, light smokey tones, dark toffee. Taste comprises peated malts, TCO, light roast, bitter fruit pangs. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close. Mediocre for style, unbalanced, lacked depth to justify the ABV and again this was one of the better ones from the series!

Bottle, 75cl. A dark brown beer topped by a small to non-existing beige head. The aroma has a distinct peated touch, with burnt malts and some dried fruits. It’s roasted and burnt in the flavor, with charcoal and bonfire, leaving little room for other flavors. Well, of course there’s peat as well. It’s full-bodied and oily, a bit flat I think, with lots of peat and charcoal in the finish. Not a bad one, but it’s too one dimensional I think. 140301
