A low alcohol, light, refreshing, effervescent, zippy and tart wheat ale which shines even brighter with the addition of fruit or herbs. Traditionally either raspberry or woodruff is used in Germany but we thought we would up the ante by using apricots for our beers. It is our intention to brew further variations of Blitz using different fruits over the next few months.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Cloudy amber with a small white head. Funky farmyard aroma. Psleasant refreshing sour flavour, not too over the top. Sour lemon really, the apricot is there but I’m not sure I’d have picked it up. Very light easy going beer, probably a good intro to sours. Good palate cleanser, liked this. Nice to see Brewdog moving away from the hop monsters.

Pelt Trader. Brewdog Camden. Keg. Hazy gold beer with a small white head. Palate is crisp and dry. Minerally carbonation. Light sourness. Tart fresh generic fruits, not really getting specific apricot. Underneath is dry thin malt. Finishes dry.

On tap at BrewDog Stockholm, October 2013. Hazy golden/orange with a small head. The aroma was tart with some light fruit, citrus and some wood. Similar taste. A refreshing and easy to drink beer. Not as tart as a "real" German Berliner Weisse.

[10/1/13] Draught at Brewdog Camden in London. Cloudy orange. Great sour lactic yogurt aroma with some fresh apricots. Sour and lactic flavor, very pleasant, with some apricot and light fruity sweet notes. Rather light-bodied. Great and refreshing.

(Keg at OlutExpo 2013) The beer poured pale yellow and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had sourness, green apples and mash. Palate was light bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were green apples, sourness, tartness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was sour. I couldn’t find any hint of apricots and the drinkability of the brew was bad.

Draught @ OlutExpo 2013

Pours hazy yellow with a smooth white head. Aroma of lactic tartness, stingy fruits and sourness. Taste is sourish with notes of lactic tarty fruits and apricot. Finish is smooth and fruity. Not very sour, but still a decent Berliner Weisse.

Aroma is odd with apricot, lactic and earthy notes. Flavour as lactic acid, some slight fruity notes and apricot. Quite milky. Unique, but not my thing.

Draught at BrewDog, Stockholm. Cloudy golden, minimal head. Tart, lactic lemon aroma. Very light bodied with crisp, rounded mouthfeel. More lactic acidity and lemon than peach, Foufone style. Slender and drinkable, although a bit clean. Nicely made modern style expat Berliner Weisse.
