A smooth, balanced bitter. Brewed with traditional English hop and malt varieties, Star is our take on the classic British bitter, with a modern approach to brewing technique & ingredient sourcing. Aromas of nuts and winter berries combine with biscuit, caramel malt notes for an ale with herbal freshness & pleasing bitter finish.

(Cask at King William IV, Leyton, London, 25 Apr 2013) Golden amber colour with brief, white head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of toffee, caramel and toasty malt. Malty taste with nuts, toffee, toast and a slightly earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite enjoyable.

Cask/GD at the 14th Egham Beer Festival at the EUSC, 28/03/13. Very lightly hazed golden/amber with a decent looking frothy off white head. Nose is floral hops, toffee, grain, rye. Taste comprises caramel malt, fruits, touch of orange, bready dough, rye. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with a touch of bitterness. Decent enough bitter, above average!

Cask at The Friend at Hand in London. Pours golden amber with a white head. Light flora and caramel aromas. Med body. It’s nicely bitter. Flavor seems floral with somewhat spicy malt. Or vice versa. Or coffee? Bit complicated in the end. Nice for a break.

Cask at the Cleveland Arms, London. Damn, I love this place. Pours clear, clever gold with a sturdy, frothy white cap. Bit of ripe orange on the nose, some lightly toasted pale malts. Light sweet flavor, some plump and ripe orange, mellow pine, toasted grains and grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Great condition. Good bit of grass and resinous pine on the finish, moderate sweetness, some lightly toasted pale malts. A fairly well balanced, decently hoppy little sessioner. I would have no trouble this by the pint. Good work, new guy.
