Taster, GBBF 2013, passed on to me by harrisoni. Many thanks. Jet black, faint beige head, spotty lacing. Chocolate malt on the nose, dry. Chocolate, wood and dust hoppy flavours. Smooth dark bitter ending. Enjoying (London Olympia 14.08.2014).

2013 version. Dark brown with loose inch of beige head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of chocolate fudge, vanilla, pepper, prunes. Very silky mouthfeel. Sweet fudgy chocolate, prunes, cherries; light floral and spice notes lift away the sweetness until modest bitterness and pepper remain. Cuddly and subtle.

Pours dark brown with ruby tints and a small head.Nose shows bready, toasty and nutty malt. Quite interesting though.Flavours are more approaching roasted malt, with some soft toasty notes underneath. Also some spicy hops.Carbonation is too hot.A big change of last year.
