Cask at the Metropolitan Bar, Baker Street, 02/06/23. Deep mahogany brown with a good sized lasting beige cap ... full glass lacing ensues. Nose is caramel, dark malts, honey noted, biscuit crumbs. Taste comprises dark malts, toffee, fruit slice, honey, brown bread, light sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Tidy mild... a touch sweet but in good nick.

(Cask) Very dark brown with good sense off white head. Subtle pleasant aroma. Smooth, medium body with soft smooth carbonation. Great taste with a lovely balance of sweetness and bitterness. Reminds me of dark chocolate in some ways. Thereโ€™s a toffee start with hints of chocolate and a nice dark toffee / burnt sugar bitterness develops. Donโ€™t detect the honey. Very enjoyable.

2/1/2022. Bottle at the New Year beer share. From Kew Gardens courtesy of MrsB. Pours clear dark amber bronze with a large frothy off-white head. Good looking pour. Aroma of malt, caramel, raisin, date, bread, fruit cake, touch of honey. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Oily watery texture, quite fizzy. Pretty decent apart from the fizz.

[50cl bottle from Longacres Garden Centre, Bagshot.] S cola brown pour with little head and light carbonation; pleasant honey aroma - not too overpowering; a proper old-fashioned mild taste - malty with a hint of chocolate, sugary without being too sweet; and a light spicy bitterness. The honey is well hidden, which suits me. This really reminds me of how milds used to taste.

Bottle from Garsons Farm shop. Initial four berry aroma smooths out with honey sweetness and mocha. Dark but the cola tint lends it a thin appearance. Creamy beige head is blotchy. Light sour with honey edge. Then develops a sweetness which is tempered by chocolate coffee. Underlying malts come through into the finish. Medium bodied. Light creaminess. Slightly astringent finish. Wouldn't want to drink too many as the honey mixed with the bitterness gives it a sicklyness but enjoyable in small doses.

Gravity at the Little Green Dragon. A somewhat unappealing look in the glass with a strange brown colour. Not much nose and the flavour was dominated by the sweet honey. This was really not my thing and I didn't enjoy it at all because of that intense sweetness. It set my teeth on edge.

Pours a ruby brown colour with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and raisins. A sweet fruity malt taste, brown sugar and honey flavours and a light dryness in the finish. A decent enough mild, perhaps a bit too sweet.
