Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of sweet raisin, vanilla, caramel, ripe malt, cherry, oak and booze. Taste has bitter raisin, booze, oak, caramel, red fruit and a really boozy finish. The aroma is nice, but the flavor is way too alcoholic.

Almost clear brown - amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a little creamy sweetness, trace of chocolate. Quite a bit of estery sweetness but it's fairly well integrated. Smooth fruity rum, pretty mellow. Traces of wood and vanilla. Smooth finish. First dozen mouthfulls, I was thinking this okay, but peristance is rewarded and the beer opens up and presents well. Yeah, good stuff.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark brown, almost opaque but has a vague orange tint and a small, beige head. Aroma of oxidized dried fruits, wood, booze - if not particularlt rum. Rich, filling malty body, decaying, overripe fruit, sweet molasses and a warming alcohol finish. Very delicious. 290518

Bottle sampled at NBPF. Very dark brown with small bubbly beige head. Strong sweet malts, alcohol, toffee, soft rum, chocolate, pudding, more booze, blackberries, dark bread. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Thick full bodied with soft carbonation. A bit too boozy maybe.
