From old tasting notes. Translucent black, brown color. Creamy tan head. Sweet burnt caramel, cappuccino aroma. Bittersweet chocolate malt flavor. There is a hint of licorice and smokiness that lends to its complexity.creamy mouthfeel. A very good American stout.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a subtle light brown head. Aroma of grapes, chocolate and light coffee. Medium to Full-bodied; Deep chocolate, coffee and roasted malt flavours throughout the taste. Aftertaste shorly follows with a pleasant sweetness, a good chocolate kick and somewhat of a bitter coffee taste. Overall, a damn good stout - no horrible tastes at all, just good ones! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 04-September-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Pour is a dark black with no head. Aroma is nice and roasty and chocolate malts. Flavor tastes like liquid dark chocolate. Very tasty and leaves a nice roast flavor on the tounge which you can taste long after the swallow.

Very dark brown; burnt toffee aroma with nuts, toast. Interesting toffee palate; complex maltiness. Low roast factor - a bit porterish (this after an alt that was also porterish...bloody hell).

This was a pretty good Stout. Pours a dark black/mahogany color with a thick light brown head. Decent lacing. Pleasant coffee dominates the aroma. The flavor is a well-balanced roasty mixture of coffee, malt and caramel. This is right there with Bell's Java Stout in the coffee flavoring, and it is still present in the finish. I liked this, and it is not very expensive either.
