Cask at the Brewpub. Huge thanks to Ang for taking the time to rum me through these ones on a working night. Opaque dark brown- black beer, tiny pale tan head. Palate is light and smooth. Minerally fine carbonation. The dark malt is more tangy in this version and has a clear fresh wood flavour with just a whisper of whisky. Smooth finish. Unusual to get the wood treatment on such a light stout and it works well here.

Gravity dispense at Brew Wharf, massive thanks to Ang for the pour, 27/03/13. Very dark mahogony brown/light black with a thin head which clears to the edge and leaves a film. Nose carries roast malt, molasses, chocolate, good whiff of Jamiesons but not overpowering. Taste comprises roast malt, light chocolate, woody notes, Jamieson whisky, dark fruits, molasses, caramelised sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Well balanced whisky stout, quite interesting to get the whisky notes on a 4.1% stout - enjoyable stuff. Decent.

Gravity cask at Brew Wharf, London - big thanks to Ang! Pours brown with a small, bubbly tan head - essentially the same appearance as the base beer. Nice oaky wood character in here, adds nice nuance to the beer. Mellow roasted malts, much less ashy than the base beer. Faint earthy bitterness. Very nice overall. Well-rounded woodiness, some torched wood bitterness, light dryness. My favorite of the Erebus treatments. Very drinkable.
