12oz @ Ryan's shared with Phill.
Aroma: roasty, inky, some sweetness and caramel.
Taste: caramel, toffee, somewhat artificial (but not disgusting), medium body, moderately sweet.
Overall: not bad.

330mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Nose has plenty of salted caramel, followed by bourbon barrels, and some toasted malt. Flavour has plenty of burnt, salted caramel, gentle woody barrel, and some roast. There’s something lacking here–not a great malt base or depth. Good but deficient.

Dark brown. Thin head. Aroma comes across thin, with light caramel. On the palate, there's a bit of chocolate, light caramel, and toastiness. Again, though, the body is light, and we know Nickel Brook is capable of a bigger stout than this. The lack of sugars definitely hurts this, as the chocolate-caramel balance is pretty good, and just needs a little something sugary to carry it across the palate.

355mL can. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Bready nose with notes of caramel and barrel. Flavour has dry salted caramel, a bit bready, solid roast. Has nice consituent flavours, but lacks the power to drive it home.

355 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of light caramel, sugars, and bready malts. Flavors of caramel, woody oak, and toasted malts with a funny medicinal note and possibly some salt if I think about it. Not that great, and disappointing; but drinkable.

Vanilla, light oak, solid bourbon. A touch boozy, more vanilla, toasted oak, soft mouth feel, low carb. Medium bitter, boozy, sweet, bourbon, earthy oak.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include coffee, alcohol, roasted malts, dark toast and Melloids Cough Drop lozenges. First swig was huge in flavour. Tastes of caramel, black coffee, cocoa and sweet malts most prevalent. Finish is burnt and somewhat sweet with coffee flavours lingering.

Nov 20, 2025 (7/4/7/3/14=3.5): Poured from 355mL can (pkg 30/Nov/2023). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Burnt sugars, light salted caramel, light chocolate and roast, no longer picking up bourbon, thinner bodied. Okay.

June 21, 2023 (7/4/7/3/15=3.6): Poured from 355mL can (pkg 06/Feb/2023). Near black with small beige head. Lots of oak upfront, underlying chocolate and caramel, touch of salt, very feint hint of bourbon. Decent.
