Bottle. Pale gold in color with a medium head. Aroma is closer to IPA than a regular pale ale. Grapefruit and pine. Taste is grapefruit and pine.

My bottle says "Highland Lost Cove Kolsch" so there apparently has been a re-naming as the bar code number matches the one given for the Pale Ale. Clear pale yellow with a tall, fluffy, white head. Spicy, peppery hop aroma. Grassy. The flavor is light citrus delivered on a spritzy light palate. Clean and crisp. Good hot weather beer.

12oz bottle pours a clear gold with a ring of white head. Nose has light honey, lemon, lightly floral, a little buttery. Flavor is fairly mild, lemon, a little mint oil, perfume. Slick finish, lightly buttery.

12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Best by 10/28/2015 A: Very pale clear straw color with a small but persistent head and nice leggy lacing. Little visible carbonation. S: Smells nicely of biscuit, cracker and a slight bit of floral hops. Sort of like a Czech pilsner. T: Crisp and wet with less malt flavor and instead a mild citrus rind hop note. Alas a bit watery to be sure. Not bad. Hoppy finish is kind of nice, adds a bit of character. M: Thin and a bit watery with a good bit of bubbles on the tongue. Average at best. O: I had heard this compared to various pilsners and I get that from the smell, but I don’t think it holds up to that expectation or that of a pale ale. Pleasant enough but not worth another purchase IMO.
