Poured into a tulip glass. Pours near black with brown highlights. Moderate brown head with soapy lacing down the side. Beautiful rich chocolate aroma with slight vanilla sweetness and faint alcohol burn. Flavor is chocolate that is a little more muted than the aroma. Rich coffee comes out as it warmed. Moderate roast at the death on the palate. Retains a boozy aspect well after drinking. Great.

Poured from a 500 ml, 2019 vintage bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of chocolate as well as lighter honey, caramel and toffee notes with a lighter roast note. Moderately strong bourbon and cognac notes with a bit of oak. Light alcohol spice. Pours black with a medium sized, thick, creamy, mocha head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and fairly long legs. Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate notes and lighter caramel, toffee and honey. Light coffee and roast notes. Medium oak with balanced bourbon and cognac notes. Light alcohol spice and moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, this may be my favorite 2019 bottle so far. It tastes almost like a blend of all eclipses. I get hints of coffee, banana, and other adjuncts with great bourbon and cognac notes.
