Renowned for its traditional fermentation and maturation, this kvass is brewed from specially baked and roasted dark rye bread, inspired by a century-old recipe.

Can 50 cl. Pours a clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Discreet, spicy aroma of rye bread. Light body, sweet notes of malt bonbons and a wee note of tartness. Quite drinkable. 060426

My kvass search bares fruit. Amber pour small sudsy head. Nose rich rye bread with fruits components. Tastes of rye, plum, cherry, raisins, soy sauce, rhubarb. Chewy mouthfeel. Not too sugary.

440ml can @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 24. Cheers Jeremy for this. Pours a deep unclear caramel amber. Aroma of caramel and ryebread. Continues to taste with a good glowing caramel character, sweet candy. Paired with Westvleteren 8 pâté.. actually not bad in the end

19th February 2024; Shrewsbury Gathering, five blokes and loads of beer to share. 500ml can taken by me. Black, sweet and bready. One of the nicest and better examples of a Kvass I have tried (not many). --- Beer merged from original tick of Gubernija Duonos Gira / Dark Rye Bread Kvass on 17 Mar 2026 at 15:45 - Score: Appearance - 5 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5.5 | Texture - 5 | Overall - 5.5. Original review text: 330ml brown bottle from a European store in Orange County, Southern California and drank at my daughters on 17th March 2026. Cola brown with a beige head that disappeared before it arrived, it's got some 'fizz' though. Aroma and taste of sweet Rye bread, it's quite pleasant actually, but glad I didn't buy any of the larger bottles that were available in the shop.

Can from Europa Maxi, Bury St E. Sweet and doughy aroma, with a touch of rye. Opaque dark brown. Foamy off-white head shrinks to the rim. Very sweet with the edge taken off by a touch of citrus sourness. Underlying bready streak. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long finish. I like these to an extent and this one is 1.2%? A slightly alcoholic refresher.
