500ml bottle. Clear dark copper colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Earthy aroma, hints of moss, forest soil, rotten spruce, a nuttily touch. Taste is mild malty, earthy with a woody nuttily touch, hints of juniper berry. Too many dull earthy flavours like a handful of forest soil solved in a glass of water, lacks a light and refreshing component.

On gravity at the London Drinker beer festival 6/3/2013. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Touch of hedgerow fruit and some cereal malts leading to a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Handpump at The Old Fountain Beer Festival, October 2012. Dry-hopped version. Pours clear auburn with almost no head. Leathery fruits in the nose, some wet wood, berries. Light sweet flavor with bitter leaves, toasty sugar, burnt wood, toasted grass, ripe berries. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty dry on the finish, with more leaves and berries, along with some faint brown sugar. Basic, pleasant. Could probably be in better condition, I might add.

Cask at Bulls Head, Croydon on Launch night. Good to finally have a beer brewed in Croydon! It pours clear amber, with a medium white head. The nose is leaf, leather, wood and light spice notes. The taste is leather, damp wood, leaf and just a hint of caramel sweetness to balance it out, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Good flavour and balance. There is no denying that bitter is not my favourite style, but Cronx have managed to brew something that is smooth and very drinkable for their first beer. An enjoyable session beer.
