Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Bottled (backlog). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some grains, a bit of alcohol as well as a slight bit of floral notes. Flavour is caramel, some floral notes as well as some mild alcohol to it. Balanced, but nothing all too special.

355 ml bottle. Almost clear, deep golden body with a rather small off-white head. Quite strong but plain aroma of malt and caramel. Flavor is sweet caramel malt with some fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and aftertaste with sweet caramel malt. Absolutely drinkable, but reminds me a lot of a rather malty homebrew that lacks some hoppy flavors. This is old school. Alcohol is well hidden btw.

Copper colored on our with small silky beige head. Aroma is hops and malt, nicely blended. Taste follows the same pattern with some fruit sweetness. Mouthfeel is heavy and slick, pleasant aftertaste. Vastly underrated, this one.
