Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Bottled. Pretty damned flavorful, caramel malts hops etc. Not bad, a bit on the heavy side.

Bottle. Not very good for the category. I expected it to have more of a cross section flavor profile and all it had was the taste of a beer with less alcohol. Good for one taste only.

Bottle from the Hop House, Hong Kong. Poured a hazy medium amber colour with a big frothy off white head. The aroma is grainy sweet sugary toffee malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth, rich, toffee caramel, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

From old tasting notes. Cloudy Amber orange color. Bubbly beige head. Earthy, spicy malt aroma. Spicy, fruity hop aroma. Bittersweet fruity malt flavor is balanced by a complex spicy hop finish. Very tasty and bold with a subtle alcohol punch.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma was some light malts, sweet notes. Some nice resinous hop notes. Easy to drink for the ABV on this one.

Bottle. Clear amber color with small off-white head, fruity caramel aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter caramelized malt taste, a bit salty, alcohol undertones, thin body, medium finish. Not bad, not great either.

Bottle from Total Wine, Gainesville VA. Almost clear amber, just about no head. Heavy caramel candy aroma. Flavor is overly sweet caramel candy, rubbing alcohol, grass. I’ll finish the bottle, but I’d never seek this out.

22 ounce bottle. I couldn’t find a date of any kind.
Pours a 24 karat gold with a substantial head of foam that shrinks to aboot a quarter inch. Some nice lacing.
I get caramel malt, fruity hops, some booze in the smell.
Caramel malt and fruity tastes up front, mild bitterness mid palate, sweetish finish along with some alcohol and alcohol burning.
Medium body and carbonation.
A bit of a different bird here. I enjoyed the bottle and may pick up another. --- Beer merged from original tick of Eye of the Hawk on 31 May 2016 at 16:50 - Score: 8. Original review text: Interesting hop profile. Interesting malt profile. Great looking brew. Smells more malty than hoppy. Lots of caramel.
