Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Bottle from the mix pack 12 beers for $12.99 I think with high abv’s and decent tasting brew this great deal. pours dark amber with candy and malt nose. Tastes of caramel, kool-aid, cherries, pine, resin, nad malt. Hides the abv pretty well but you’ll feel alcohol effects quickly if your pounding this mix pack

Bottle. Pours reddish amber clear to slightly hazy with a medium off-white head with good staying power and some lacing. Aroma very faint, some malt, caramel, grass. Taste is malty, some alcohol notes, with a bitter middle and finish. Slightly metallic aftertaste.

Bottle @ home. A bit hazy, dark red orange appearance with a big cream colored head. Sweet orange/tangerine citrusy, floral, sweet pale malty aroma. Somewhat metallic, sweet creamy citrusy, a touch boozy, a bit floral floral. I get a metallic note in this one like some of their others.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 2/21/12

Aroma: The nose has some sweet caramel, a little earth, and some vegetation
Appearance: Pours a clear orange-amber color with a small beige head and spotty lace-work
Flavor: Tastes slightly off, with some malty sweetness up-front, but little too much rotting veggie in the finish
Palate: It had an average carbonation, a slightly sticky feel, and some dryness and a little heat on the finish
Overall Impression: I wasn't really impressed. I didn't feel like this one worked well at all. It felt flawed to me, and it was just sort of lacking on most levels. It isn't a terrible beer, but it could use some improvement.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear amber orange with a small white head. Aroma of bready malts, caramel and some sweetness. Flavour of dried dark fruits, bready malt and caramel - sort of muted flavours. Dry, semi-sweet finish, medium and complexity and soft carbonation. Decent - nothing special.
