Dana-mite Blonde is an ideal drink for a warm Summer's day. Whether it's a picnic by the river, a meal in the pub beer garden, or a barbecue with a few friends in your garden, it'll offer you the thirst quenching accompaniment to the sunny weather.

Dana hops are used to provide the bitter character of Dana-mite blonde. Dana is a cultivar bred from the German variety Hallertau Magnum and Slovenian genetic hop material at the Slovenian Institute of Hop Research and Brewing in Žalec. It is grown in Slovenia. Alpha acid levels are typically 11-16% and so they lend themselves to be used to provide bitterness by being added at the start of the boil in the copper.

Celeia hops are added at the end of the biol and produce the characteristic refreshing pink grapefruit character of the beer. Celeia is a triple cross between Styrian Golding, Aurora (also known as Super Styrian) and a Slovenian wild hop. Typically picked in the second week of September, it is grown on clay soil in Slovenia.

Cask at the Lyndhurst, Reading. Very pale, slightly hazy gold with a small white head. Hoppy from the off. Big floral flavours with a little sweet melon. Moderate bitterness with a little dryness. A little basic perhaps but a decent refreshing pale ale nevertheless.

Cask at The William Morris (Wetherspoons), Hammersmith, London. A dark golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Vague hoppy, grapefruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, grapefruit, quite bitter, zesty. This one started well but I got rather bored with it towards the end of the pint. It’s OK though.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. Pale straw with a ring of white head; intense floral aromasoft and silky with a luxourious mouth feel, some honey - but not sweet, and lightly spiced with a grainy body; then an appealing fruity bitterness. An excellent, satisfying blonde.
