This gose is our collaboration with Chef Brad Carter, Michelin starred chef/owner of Carter’s of Moseley in Birmingham.
We started with a base of unmalted British heritage grains that Chef uses in his dishes at Carter’s, giving us the backbone of this classic sour beer. We then added salt from ancient underground salt brines in Droitwich, and a little citrusy magic from the wall woods of England, grand fir, for a stunning grapefruit aroma.
This beer is a great start to any meal, any toast or just to simply enjoy on its own. The woods can be a dark place but here the beer brings a fresh, citrusy light.
We hope you enjoy!

330ml bottle, online from the source. Pours light hazed golden with a decent white head. Aroma: lemon & brine. Taste: dry, clean, light tart, light sweet, lemon, some minerality, nice bash of salinity on the finish. Light to medium body with frothy carbonation.

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Light haze on a straw gold. Thick and foamy, lasting, white head. Nose has lemon pith. Brine. Something like lavender. Mineral. Taste is dry with sweet lemon. Clean and light on the palate. High-ish carbonation. Dry and light tart finish. Good burpage.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer. Pours clear pale yellow with a bushy, white head. Lightly sweet with notes of pale grain, subtle zippy lemon, low acidity, light minerality. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Fairly clean and dry in the finish, further pale grain, lemony accents. Drinks fine.
