Pumpkin is sweet and we’ve spiced up our new brew with cinnamon and other spices to make a deliciously dark beer worthy of a time of year when we celebrate the end of summer and harvest, and the beginning of the long winter months. Pumpkin Beer is brewed using real pumpkins prepared in the Brewhouse, with added spices to produce a devilishly warming, malty beer.

Cask @ White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark amber with a creamy head. Its spiciness is evident but low. It’s a very sweetened malt-hop ale and a good seasonal effort.

On cask at Pleased to Meet You, Newcastle upon Toon Nov18. Pours lightly hazed dark brown with an off white head. Aroma: malts, caramel, pumpkin spices. Taste: light sweet & bitter, caramel, toffee, clove, nutmeg. Dryish finish. Light to medium body with loose carbonation. Not too bad all things considered

Handpull cask at the Loaded Dog, Leicester. Brown and a bit translucent with a scummy white head on top. Cloves and nutmeg compete with soy and balsamic vinegar in the aroma. Taste isn't good. The cloying spice is drowned out by a sourness. Not sure if it is the condition of the beer, or the beer itself. I suspect it is both but this is shamefully poor.
