Bottle, from historic notes. Poured dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, moderate roasted malt, dried fruit, touch of liquorice and Christmas spices. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Was a pretty decent brew.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours clear brown with a light, off-white head. Dark malts, some anise, licorice, light roast, some earthy bitterness. Odd beer. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying to finish with more dark malts and mild spices. So so.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Clear dark brown beer, residual tan head. A light touch of dark malts - more porterish. Zingy fruits. Sweet red fruits underneath some toffee malt. Quite well joined up. Tasty beer.
