Cask @ JCB Weather Spoons Shrewsbury Hotel. Pours clear deep burnished amber, off white head. Spiced caramel on the nose. Taste is smooth and surprisingly spicy (well, it is a winter beer i guess), lots of cinnamon, ginger hints, biscoff biscuits before returning to its caramel-forward base. Nice

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 29/1/2019. Amber in colour, with a slight, white, head. Cinnamon, ginger and clove notes, which avoided being dominating, alongside some leafy hops, crisp malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A dark golden amber pour with a loose cream head; malty aroma with some cloves; similar taste with a light spicing; then a drier finish with some caramel and biscuit. A traditional winter ale.

On tap at the Malt Shovel. Appearance - toffee coloured and nice head. Nose - cinnamon and toffee. Taste - quite heavy on the cinnamon but good toffee sweetness and some biscuit spice on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a rich texture and a fairly fresh finish considering. Overall - good ale and a bit different.
