2006 vintage - 9.5% ABV, subsequent batches 7.5% ABV.

600 ml bottle. Another gusher from Trou du Diable which appears to be a consistent trait. Two points off as immediate clean up really affects my enjoyment. Pours a clear mahogany with big head that settles quickly. Aromas of yeast, aged dried fruit, and toasted malts. Watery flavors of liquorice, resin, and spice (nutmeg and allspice). OK, but nothing to write home about.

500ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo and carried back home for the Christmas celebration. Creamy, fawn-coloured head that stayed well over a amber-brown body, close to clear. Fair lacing down the glass. Moderate sweet-tart berries on the nose with earthy malts beneath. The flavour profile is caramel malts with interplay of fruits and berries added by a spicy touch. Sweet and tart ending. Fine bodied. Quite refreshing, if not that great (at home Tromsø 31.12.2013).
