Normally released around Christmas time, and maybe a special release sometime in May, The Vader Shuffle is a wood aged Belgian porter.
Hints of oak, spice and roast coming from the oak, Belgian yeast and roasted malts respectively. A cult classic from way back in the day!

0,1l from tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien shared by me. black color, small tan head. smells licorice, light smoke note, earthy, light sweetness, very light roast notes. rather limited smell. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of licorice, some dried fruits, earthy notes, a bit glueish, some grassy notes, charcoal. finishes with licorice and some hop bitterness. OKish beer, both taste and smell are rather limited, overall OK beer not too special.

Draught at CBF Wien.
Brown body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, dark fruits, some coffee.
Tastes of cocoa, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits, wood, some liquorice.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, roasty, with coffee, cocoa, wood, some liquorice, some dark fruits.
Nice one. Nothing special overall, but smooth and well balanced, with very nice coffee and chocolate notes. The barrel aging isn’t very obvious for me.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 21 Feb 2014) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, chocolate, coffee and dark cherries. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, prunes, hints of wood and a balanced bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Quite a fruity porter, with a touch of wood. Nice one.
