From tap at Mi2 at Cardinal 12.03.18. Dark brown. Small pale brown head. Aroma of rasins, mulled wine, cinnamon and dark berries. Sour taste, with berries, cardamon, bark and spices. A hint of chili in aftertaste

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark brown colour, nearly black. No head. Aroma of red wine vinegar, oak and brettanomyces. Fairly sour flavour, very oaky, hints of roast malts and red wine vinegar, brett and sour plums.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with dense beige head. Aroma of cherries, vanilla, perfume, dark dried fruits, marzipan, spices, mushrooms, leather, liquorice, horse stable, lemon, ethanol. Taste sour, slightly bitter, umami. Bitter-sour finish with a little sweetness. Extremely complex and weird beer.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma pulses with molasses, spicy black licorice, spicy wood and rum. Interesting. The aroma isn’t nearly as crazy as the taste. I get spicy black strap molasses, smooth sweet rum, spicy wood and then an out of place citrus hit running into the molasses wrapped Brett. Intriguing for sure.
