250ml bottle @ Benzai's Anti-Carnival Valentine's Day Tasting, Feb 26. Pours pitch black, deep tan head. Massive aroma, lots of dark malt, very well presented, still lots of the Goose Island character presented, boosted a little more with the Monks imperial porter.. fantastic, never thought I'd taste another one of these

(Bottle) Black colour with creamy, but brief, brown head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with strong black coffee, liquorice, vanilla, bourbon, cocoa and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of sweet liquorice, black rye bread, black coffee, vanilla, whisky and a generous coffee bitterness in a sweet and vinous finish. Full body, quite sweet. Heavy and warming imperial stout with lots of liquorice and whisky character. Very nice.

Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014, grand tasting 09/08/2014. Dark caramel coloured pour with reddish hues, not much of a head. Aroma is fruity berry, caramel, soft roast, touch of floral. Flavour is jammy berry fruits, tangy sweet fruits and sweet caramel. Some hot alcohol in the finish. Palate is quite sweet with lowish carbonation.

Raven black and a tiny beige ring around the glass. Well to be fair. No head. Aroma…oh yeah. A LOT! And nice. Chocolate, fruity and oak. Thick oily stuff with almost no carbonation. A bit sweet, but still quite balanced. No signs of alcohol. Maybe in my head after a while. Tasty little devil this one. Bourbon, cherry, chocolate and oak.

Bottle shared at the RBESG ’14, Grander Tasting @ Moncada, 09/08/14. Black with a moderately appointed dirty tan covering that soon dissipates to edgework. Nose is big on dark malts, spice, treacle toffee, molasses, cocoa rub. Taste comprises roasted malt, liqourice, chocolate fudge, roasty vibes, dark toffee melt. Full bodied, oily texture, sweet licks in the close. Tasty enough offering if a little 1D and overly sweet in places.
