Bottle split with JF at his gaff - the 60+ insect bites tasting, thanks to he, 09/06/13. Mid black with a good sized dirty tan head. Good lacing ensues. Nose is roast malt, good dose of hoppage, light chocolate. Taste comprises roast malt, chocolate, good hop backbone, molasses, toffee fudge, mineral notes, aniseed, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, good roast bite in the finale. A tasty porter - solid stuff.

Bottle at CGarvie tasting. It pours very dark brown with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, smoke, meatiness, coffee grinds, earth and dark fruit. The taste is rich roasted malt, toast, earth, coffee grinds, burnt rubber, cocoa and good bitterness with a dry finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. A pretty tasty porter all-round.

330ml bottle. Black in colour, foamy light brown head and aroma is roast malt, toffee, chocolate plus floral orangey citrus. The taste is sweet dark malt, chocolate, coffee & orange with citrus hop bitterness. Smooth mouth feel, medium bodied, medium carbonation, bitter finish. Very much like a black IPA, quite drinkable.

Bottle from Kihoskh. Black with a large, creamy tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, toffee, fruit and some nuts. About the same in the taste. The finish was bitter and dry. Tasty.

330ml bottle bought at Barley Wine. The oily pour reveals a body that is dark as pitch, and a tan-coloured head leaving solid lacing down the glass. Dark, hoppy aroma nicely interwoven with cocoa powder. Rich flavour of bitter roast malts, ash and dark chocolate leading to a bittersweet finish. Fine bodied and very well balanced. Enjoyed at our hotel room in Copenhagen, 23.03.2013.
