Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a clear deep gold colored body that has thin copper hued edges and supports a thin ring of off white bubbles. The aroma offers up sweet dark fruity esters that are plum, fig and to sherry like and then a thin cloud of malts to faintly bready malts well off in the background. The taste delivers smooth malty to kinda bready malty sweetness leading to murmurs of brown sugar coated plums and figs. To midway some of the booze develops to help counter the base sweetness. Into the finish there's just a dash of spicy like black strap molasses sweetness that comes and goes. Nice sipper.

4-pack of 11.5oz medicine bottles from Appalachian. Came here for the fresh festbier & believe this pack, despite the lack of born on date, to be 2-3 months old. Pint glass at home. Cascading clear, copper brew with a mid-sized egg cream head; lathery. Smells is bitter orange, honey & very light sugar cookie. Fascinated by the smell. Syrupy, white sugar sweet, mellow caramel, prickly herbal hops that could be stiffer, half sharp citrus cutting it up, toffee finish. Slight froth, decent acid & very warming. Pretty easy & inviting for a barleywine. I say that now. Stay hydrated homies.
