Bottle. Hazy dark orange color with creamy beige head. Aroma is vineous, woody, quite sour, dark fruits. Taste is woody, vineous, tannic, brown sugar, almost puckering, yeastcake. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Not bad, but not great either.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met Bram. Het is een troebel oranje achtig bier met een dun crème schuim. Het heeft een zurig wijn achtige geur. De smaak is zurig, wrang en licht hout achtig.

0.33 l bottle from ’Hopfenrausch’, best before December 2018. Slightly hazy, dark brownish red with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, sourish, very fruity, woody and vinous aroma of cherries, red grapes, oak, caramel, some balsamic vinegar and a touch of glue. Quite sweet, moderately sour, malty and quite fruity taste of caramel, strawberry jam, red grapes, sour cherries, oak, balsamic vinegar and some bitter almond, followed by a medium long, moderately tart, rather woody-dry, quite vinous finish with a touch of glue. Medium body, moderately astringent and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite complex and refreshing at the same time, maybe a tad too much glue, still a very interesting and solid beer!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Vova. Cloudy orange-amber. Aroma of caramel, cherries/berries, cellar character, a bit of hibiscus, wine, wood, spicy note. Flavor is sweetish and tart with cherries/berries, lots of wood, caramel, some wine, cobwebs, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Interesting.
