500ml bottle @ the Tenth Shrewsbury Bottle Share, thanks to Simon! Pours dark brown with medium beige head. Very nice malty caramel aroma. Coarse CDA-like taste with confident roasted flavours. Decent stout, I liked.

500ml bottle: shared between 5 on 8th Dec 2014 during a Shrewsbury Bottle Share meeting, cheers Simon (his turn to bring a โ€™Cockโ€™ beer). We always try and have a little โ€™titterโ€™ with at least one beer name per meeting: Two Cocks won this time. Loved the white feather on the bottle. Anyway, back to the actual beer. Pours a clear, very dark brown with a tanned/beige head. The aroma was roasted malts mostly with a vanilla trace or two. The flavour was also malts first and foremost, with a slightly bitter and mini burnt twang to the whole taste. The smell indicated a sweeter beer than the taste gave: overall not a bad brew and an OK Stout on all counts.

Cask at the Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is light roasted malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, watery malt, burnt toffee bitter palate. Moderate to light bodied with average carbonation.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol, 1/9/2014. Near black, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweet, milk chocolate and toasty malts, with a toffee edge and a gentle finish. Fine.

Impromptu tasting of three Two Cocks beers (six cocks?) with Ashton McCobb. Overall, I expected more from the experience. "as featured on grand designs" doesnโ€™t really fill you with much hope does it? This was the best of the lot though. Black with a thin, long-lasting beige head. Aromas of cold coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is more of the same, some light sulphur. Creamy texture, bitter finish. This is the least sweet of the Two Cocks we tried, and the best tasting overall.

50cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with a decent crema head. Nose - struck match thing again so sulphur. The dark chocolate. Taste - dark chocolate but predominantly coffee. Liquorice note on the end. Palate - medium bodied with a dry malty texture and a dry malty finish. Overall - definitely the best of the three even if there are again slight issues with the nose.
