Draft at Craft Beer Rising 2014 - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Great aroma, classic black IPA, all richly roasted malts, chocolate, toasted pine and ripe citrus. Medium sweet flavor with good and sticky pine, dirt, ash, cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Resinous toasted pine to finish with ripe orange, torched earth, baking cocoa and ashy roast. Excellent. Probably the best beer of the festival for me. Thwaites really brought their A-game with this one.

Cask by handpump, half pint shared with Finn at The National Winter Ales Festival. Beige bubbles at the top of a deep, dark coloured body with a brown shade. Dark fruits and dark malts to the nose. Dark fruit hoppy taste with dark chocolate beneath. Lingering bittersweet ending. Fine bodied. Good (Manchester, 24.01.2013).

Cask at NWAF, 2013. Forgot to make a note of the colour once again! Citrus and dark fruit aroma. Tangerine, butterscotch and chocolate orange flavour. Quite sweet. Long sweet finish. Tasty.

Dark ale with frothy head. It’s strong but its tropical fruit aroma and taste shines through.
