(Cask at Dog & Duck, Soho, London, 25 Nov 2012) Golden colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity, slightly malty nose with orange and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, orange, a soft malt character and a gentle citric bitterness in the finish. Light body, with balanced sweetness. Quite decent, but lacking something extra.

Re-rating @ Cloisters meet the brewer. A much less inspiring beer on this occasion, so I’ve averaged my two ratings. Previous rating 20/09/12 = 7+3+7+4+14=3.5 On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours pale and hazy with a proportionate head. The nose is of geraniums and white flowers. The taste is more citrusy, probably lemon in this case and the flowers are evident again. The palate is almost medium bodied, with very well balanced bitterness. Good pale ale.
