This deep paprika red beer is bursting with blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry flavours and aromas underlined with subtle caramelised malt. A delicate hint of marzipan rolls back up to the tip of the tongue before you’re left with a smooth, warming, yet dry finish.

Cask @ Sheffield Tap, Sheffield [0110916]
Dark amber, clear, white head
Aroma of tropical fruits, lots of fruits, peach, bit of apricot, diesel fumes from Pacer wafting into bar
Taste of sweet fruity malts, touch of grassy hops, some sweet caramel, honey, tropical fruits, citrus, alcohol is noticeable
Palate - Medium body, quite sweet
Overall - Fruity, malty, rather boozy though. Heavy going - 1/2 pt enough - probably better on tap

Cask at the Admiral Benbow on the promenade overlooking the sea in Chapel St Leonard’s, Lincolnshire. Poured a clear deep amber colour with a small firm off white head. Aroma of malt, light hop, caramel and biscuit, and a touch of chocolate. Medium sweetness, light bitter. Dry mouthfeel, full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. A good beer!

Cask. Pivni, York. Clear, dark gold. Dense, creamy white head. Nose has sweet, sugary malts. Pungent, grassy, floral hop. Some notes of baked apple, and dried fruit. Taste is sweet, then grassy bitter. Full body. A bit sticky. Chewy, bittersweet finish. Hard work.

Cask at The George, Croydon. It pours clear amber with a bubbly beige head. The nose is fresh, juicy, fragrant, orange squash, peach, honeysuckle, lychee, pine and a touch of varnish. The taste is pretty bitter, pine, resinous, grapefruit, blood orange, tangerine, peach, perfumed, light toffee and some chewy malt backbone with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty juicy stuff. Enjoyable, albeit not Oakhams best.

Cask gravity at the St Albans beer festival 2015. Mid amber slightly honey coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is tangy zippy lemon, bitter orange, grapefruit, little brown bread. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, honey, zippy zesty lemon, grapefruit, zesty pez sweets. Palate is medium sweet, medium full, bit of sticky hop resin, good cask condition. Aggressive clean hop bitterness. Another suburb, hoppy cask conditioned beer from Oakham, chapeaux!
