Dark amber color with a tan head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a fine carbonation level. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Bready, toffee and mild fruity flavor. Ok bitter.

500ml bottle bought at Hop Beer Shop, Chelmsford. Tiny beige head leaving spotty lacing behind. Bright mahogany in body appearance. Caramel and dark fruity nose. Taste of toffee, earthy malts, grain and subdued leafy hops. Ends with a mid-sweet malty touch. Drinks quite well (Shared with Cunningham, hotel room, Chelmsford 17.02.2017).

Cask at the Drayman’s Son. Ruby red with little discernible carbonation. Malty smell, some oak, forest floor. Malt also dominates the taste, but there is a strong bitter edge to the finish. Not all that bad.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 02/03/13. Dark amber with reddish hues and a thin beige bubbly head that retains well. Nose is caramel malts, fruit, a little vegetal. Taste follows, fruits, caramel, a bit on the twiggy side of the things! Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Pretty average stuff, not a revisit for me!
