Every year, we celebrate our anniversary with an imperial, barrel-aged version of our flagship Black Butte Porter. Our brewers love to experiment and they always add some fun new ingredients to this beer like chilies, cranberries, figs and other such treats. This year, to celebrate 28 years of brewing, they’ve added the interesting mix of ingredients above for another multi-layered flavor experience.

650ml bottle at a bottleshare, when they were still a thing. Pours jet black colour with a beige to tan head. Aroma: roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, slightly smoky, leather, caramel, orange zest hints, vanilla. Taste: moderate sweet, chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, burnt caramel, peat hints. Medium to full body with soft carbonation. Delicious.

Crowler fill from Growler Guys CDA, which won't populate in the drop down menu below even though it's in the database. Aroma is wood, booze, dark fruit, sherry, raisin, dark bread, molasses, soy sauce, toasted marshmallow, licorice, dark chocolate, coffee, leather, pouch tobacco. Pours black as the abyss with a thick tan head with excellent retention. Taste is moderately sweet, boozy, finishing with a moderate herbal hop bitterness; flavors like the aroma. Velvety perfect mouthfeel. A nice sipper that's aged pretty well.

Dark brown pour, beige foam on the top. Sweet cocoa nose, chocolate, bit of vanilla and lots of booze. Taste has similar vanilla, whisky and booze. Dry herbal bitterness in the finish, bit harsh in a way. Liquid chocolate in the finish linger, herbal edge and a bit bitter.
