First brewed for the 2004 Peterborough Beer Festival. Most recently Oakademy of Excellence beer, August 2010.
It was a mickey-take on our US farming friends who we visit once a year to pick the very best of their hop harvest. The scene on the pump clip is true to life (trust me) the beer itself is red and it is also well hopped as you may have guessed.
Red in colour, spicy resinous powerfully hopped taste with pineapple/ grapefruit blend in with a malt background into a fruity bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Barton Arms, Birmingham 31/08/10. Reddish amber with a thin white head. Sweet, malty aroma with a whiff of pine. Flavour was malty up front, with some berry fruits before the familiar grapefruit kicked in, leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Cask at the Live and Let Live, Cambridge. Gold with a thin white head; fruity malt aroma; a fruity malt flavour as well, with an oily, syrupy texture; followed by a strongly bitter finish. Good, but rather ill defined.

Cask handpull at The Brewery Tap, Peterbrough. Amber copper colour with lasting beige head. Some diacetyl on aroma and some hop. Reasonable malt in mouth. Then good earthy hops on finish. Fullish malts in mouth that is sweetish. Then some very good APA style hops on finish. Take the diacetyl out and it would be an ok APA.

Cask, gravity at the Pig and Falcon, St Neots. 02-10-09 Pours red with a slight haze, but in fairness we were informed that this was getting close to the bottom of the cask. The aroma is fruity in fact there is very much a waft of tropical fruit. Good fruity sweetness, touches of pineapple, bit of grapefruit and a long though restrainded bitterness. A7 A3 F7 P4 Ov14 3.5
