April 2008. On tap. Pleasantly balanced malt and hops with a slight tang about it.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, Ashford, JDW. Copper with thin off white head. Some yeasty aroma and character. Yeasty best bitter, bit of empty candy sugar in mouth, decent hop sting on finish. Absolutely fine, but no real distinctive character. OK hops on finish.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Copper with a thin cream head; citrus aroma; a curious blend of citrus and malt flavours with biscuit undertones, then a gloriously strong and prolonged bitter finish. The best Wychwood beer if had in ages.
