Bree Louise. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, no real head. Palate is smooth with very light carbonation. Light malt and lighter toffee. Ripe dried fruits, mildly tangy. Bruised orange before a smooth finish. Inoffensive but somewhat dull.

Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Reddish copper in colour with a dense cream head; lightly spiced malty aroma; thick and full bodied with earthy, spicy, malts and a touch of molasses; leading to a dry woody finish. Lacked the warming feeling I was expecting, given the style and ABV.

Cask handpull at Simple Simons, Canterbury. Chestnut colour with thick beige head. Spiced malty nose. Lots more spice inmouth with dry malt. Finish had dryness. Full in mouth. Dry malt rather than rich. Some juicyness towards the end. Some milk choc and some sweet strawberry fruit/malt mix is pretty good. Nice balance flavours, spicy but after initial hit, it dies down a bit. Good winter beer. Spice needs a bit more integration
