(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of rye bread, dried fruit, toffee, crisp-bread and a touch of ginger lurking in the background. Malty taste with rye bread, orange peel, treacle toffee, toast, caramel and a generous spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and interesting take on the style, possibly with a touch more hops than usual. Quite nice.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 02/13, from Systembolaget, 20130215) The beer poured copper coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, molasses and caramell. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, grass, mild fruitiness, sweetness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, harsh and bitter. Well balanced, too sweet and also dull.
