A light, golden, hoppy session bitter, the permanent stable-mate on the Star bar to Crowlas Bitter. The ninth brew from the pub’s brewery, hence the name. Fuggles and Pilgrim go into the boil with pale ale malt, with Perle and Amarillo hop added later.

The Star Inn, Crowlas. Cask. Clear pale gold beer with a small white head. Softish palate with nice fine carbonation. Good floral start with light tangy orange and lemon and a little marmalade. Light finish with a peel bitter aftertaste. Well joined up and very drinkable.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2012, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.Clear medium to dark orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, pale malt, light to moderate hoppy, fruity, plastic notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, plastic notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120807]

Cask@GBBF2012. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is earthy, grassy, grainy and mildly wooden. Flavour is rather similar. Nicely balanced, but not a very special golden ale.

Cask, gravity at Banbury Beer Festival 05.05.11 Pours light golden good clarity with a few clean white bubbles that swiftly departed. Really good condition. The aroma smells like a millpond, I don’t mean that in a negative sense its just that was exactly what the first whiff of that evoked memories of. This does exactly what it sets out to do, its a very tasty lightly hoppy session beer, with just the very slightest hop burn detected. Crikey a Cornish beer that I really liked, now that is a turn up! A7 A5 T7 P4 Ov14 3.7

Golden. Nice bubbly head. Bright citrusy American (amarillo?) nose. Nice bitterness - citrus, tropical fruit. Refreshing, slightly creamy. Really drinkable.
