Bottle shared with the team at work. Release beer. Really think oily black / dark caramel pour with a thin fleeting tan head. Aroma is booze / ethanol first off then unrefined / burnt sugars, honey and earthy notes. Palate is sweet and sticky, but really nice and full and slightly creamy. Warming alcohol on the tongue after you swallow. Flavour is sweet / cakey, with smooth caramel malts. Alcohol bite in the finish. some appley fruits and weird earthy woody flavour are slightly off putting.

Bottle at Bruce’s keller, thanks to Kenny, minister for the interior of Danish beer bottles, 08/04/14. Murky light black with moderate faded tan spottage effect that thins further. Nose is sweet, boozey overcoat and trilby, nail polish, honeycomb, sugars, dark malts, bit of a one trick pony. Taste comprises sweet tones, honey, sugars, spice, boozey twang, light cocoa. Full bodid, fine carbonation, sweet boozey close. Ok - little hot and sweet, choclified mead, I couldn’t drink a lot of this.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Opaque dark brown beer, good mid tan head. Nose of honey and spicy ester. Dry palate and surprisingly light. Modest fine carbonation. Sweet dark malt with honey dripping off it! Light spice and bitter wood. Touch of something floral. Dry finish. Honey linger. Nice enough flavour but there was a dry earthiness about the mouthfeelnof this beer that was somewhat offputting.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to MadMitch. Pours black-brown with a fine, creamy brown head. The nose has some rich dark malts, touches of soap, burnt wood. Big sweet flavor with prominent torched wood, burnt flowers, dark toast, bitter earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish with lots of bitter, burnt wood, torched earth and grass, baking cocoa. Quite heavy handed. Fairly drinkable but a bit punchy.

Bottle - Black in colour. Liquorice, vinous fruits and honey in the aroma. Sweet taste with honey, cocoa and a hint of liquorice. A bit sickly after a few sips.
