15th May 2021 Bottle. First rating for half a decade! I'm sure this is going to go well! Opaque dark brown beer, residual dark tan head. Palate is smooth and viscous, the carbonation levels here are registering but only just. No problem for a 14% Impy. Smooth rich dark malts, good dose of dark malt cream. Tons of caramel and cream. Chocalate syrip is the spine of this one. Ripe pruney fruits underneath hand in hand with good jammy red fruits, rich and intoxicating. Ripe fruity brandy in abundance on the back end. Smooth spicy finish. Ye god's - thought this would be a bit beyond its best but no, I reckon you could safely put another 3 -5 years on to this beast. But don't be afraid to drink now. Hugely rich and rewarding. I really liked Stronzo, sad to see them go under some years back but nice to see their legacy strolling on in beers like this.

Opaque black, no head. Liquerish coffee, bread, alcohol, ink - Mikkeller Blackish. Full-bodied. Overly sweet, licorice, chocolate, lots of sugar (covering alcohol). A bit like a Dark Horizon. Not bad.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2013. Pitch black colour, no head. Intense roasty aroma, tar, strong coffee, liquorice and smoke. Minimal carbonation. The flavour is intensely sweet and roasty, tarry and smokey. Quite an experience, but are you looking for "balance"? You’ve come to the wrong place!
