Hand bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy amber, with no head. The nsoe is alcohol, leaf, raw hop, citrus and spice. The taste is resin, grass, citrus fruit, obvious alcohol warmth, spice, raisin and currant, with a very warming finish. Medium body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Very hot indeed. Aggressive in many aspects, but doesn’t have the body to carry them off. A bit of a letdown, unlike Ian’s ticking ability.

Cask at Reading BF 2012. Congrats Ian! Pours a lightly hazy, rich gold with a bubbly, lightly foamy white head. Big hop aroma with juicy citrus, bubblegum, mango, light pee. Medium sweet flavor, fairly sweaty, plenty of sugary malts, mango, some citrus. Medium to full bodied with soft to fine carbonation. Warm finish with some gritty, fairly abrasive hops, some pine, mango, sweet bread, sweaty grass. It’s a big beer that throws some big punches, but the punches aren’t really landing.

Cask handpull at Reading BF 2012. Hazy mid brown with lasting off white head. Rating 10,000. Well its a hell of a beer. Bit of a flat mouthfeel. Bit of alcohol burn. Hops and alcohol on aroma. Good Simcoe finish. Drunk with Chriso Patrik Jan and Charlotte. 7 years after this all started at Reading with Chriso Duff and Phil so it finishes full circle. Beer has some hop punch but I guess the beer of this strength probably needed a bit more time to condition. Thanks to Gazza and Dave for brewing it.
