Eight är vår version av Black IPA. Denna relativt nya amerikanska ölstil dök upp första gången redan 1988, men det är först de senaste två åren som den har ökat i popularitet. Vi har valt att göra vår Black IPA som en stout med massor av humle från Amerika, Australien och Nya Zeeland. I både doft och smak finns tydliga inslag av citrus och tropiska frukter och i smaken märks dessutom drag av svartpeppar och en lätt bränd chokladton i avslutningen.

Klassifikation: Mörk Indian Pale Ale.

Användning: Detta kraftiga smakrika öl har många användningsområden. Den är en utmärkt sällskapsdryck i goda vänners lag. Inte så kyld fungerar den mycket bra i kombination med choklad, chokladkaka eller kraftiga ostar. Lite mer kyld fungerar den bra till exempel med rökt renkött eller italienska korvar.

Innehåll: Fyra sorters malt: pilsnermalt, ljus karamellmalt, chokladvetemalt och carafall special-malt.

Fyra sorters humle: Hallertauer Northen Brewer, Columbus, Pacific Jade och Galaxy.

Alkoholhalt: 8 %

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with huge light tan head. Aroma of citrus, grass, pine, biscuit, bread and light sweet alcohol. Some fusel alcohols. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of citrus, tangerine, biscuit, biscuit and light ash. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice but not that roasted.

Draught @ Pikkulintu.dark brown, beige head.roasty, citrusy aroma. flavor has hops, roastedness, malt, more hops. Decent black ipa.

Bottle from Systembolaget webshop. Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and moderate hoppy - grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 100813

Flaska från Systembolaget. Svart färgad vätska med gräddigt skum. Påtaglig arom av malt, röda bär och lätt tobaksarom. Markerad munkänsla. Sträv, tunn smak. Väldigt tunn. Men lång trevlig eftersmak.

Sampled draught at "En öl & whiskymässa" in Göteborg, on April 13, 2013.Black color, brown head. Hoppy, green, citrus scent. Malty, grainy, bitter, citrus taste. Bitter aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. Grapefruit.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ Trade by omhper ]. Dark dark black brown colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, citrus, grapefruit, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, pine, fruity hops, roasted bitter, hops bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130110]

Draught @ Gastropub Nordic
Aroma is somewhat fruity and hoppy with vanilla, berries and some sweetish rye notes. Flavour has vegetables typical to danish ales, some gooseberry bush, berries and bready malt. Also some licorice and herbs occur at the middle of the glass. Flavour is a complete disappointment after the aroma.

Appearance: Black color with a fine off white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Grape hoppy, fruity and dark malt.
Palate: Thick and oily body. Slightly sweet and a lovely bitterness. Creamy carbonation.
Taste: Rich hoppy, fruity, vanilla and dark malt.
Overall impression: Complex, well blended and just LOVELY. Hallalujah I am in heaven.

Hoppy sweet smell. Black colour, light brown head. Hops, citrus, fruit and burnt aroma. Fresh, except aftertaste. Medium bitter.
