Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 1/3/2014. Reddish amber, with a slight, off-white head. Sweet berry fruits, a hint or roast and nuttiness, before a gentle finish. Ok.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2013. Red colour with a loose grey head. Aroma is raisin nutty malt and toffee. Flavour is musty green apple. Nutty malt. Some raisin and metal.

Growler (plastic milk bottle) of the stillage in Red Squirrel’s Chesham Brewery Shop. Poured a clear dark ruby with no head. Aroma of smoked malt, cereal and grapes. Flavours of dark fruit, toast and a slight hint of iodine. Ends with coffee, burnt malt and some citrus hops.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small, frothy to fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toated, caramel, light chocolate, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, sweet licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20120503]

Cask (Edgar Wallace, Strand, London) - Dark brown in colour. Nuts, malt and dried fruit in the aroma. Malty and chocolatey taste with notes of toffee, nuts and spicy malt.

Cask at The Hope ’Living is Easy’ Beer Fest. It pours deep ruby, with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, tobacco and leather. The taste is soft dark fruit (particularly plum), wood, leather, vinous notes, cola and a touch of tanginess, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Uncomplicated, well balanced, smooth and easy drinking.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is toffee, coffee and some mild floral notes. Flavour is toffee, malts, some fruity and mild earthy and ashy notes.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours clear, red-brown with a faint, foamy head. Toast, dirt and cocoa on the nose. Lightly sweet flavor with faint leather, dry cocoa and leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent finish, dry, with light sweetness and almost burnt whole grains bread, along with dry chocolate and dirt. Fine, very light coffee, too. Nice mild.
