Half-pint, shared with Finn. Deep ruby black body, covering beige head, spotty lacing. Inviting aromas with dark bread and berry skins, lightly roasted. Quite exciting mixed taste of dark berries and chocolate malts, joined by a mild spicy bite. Rounded malty ending. Nice enough. (London, 12.02.2025).

Delt med Rune. Svart. Lavt luftig skum med litt farge. Litt lacing. Aroma av sjokolade. Hint av krydder. Smaken rosiner & kirsebær. Tørr, lett bitter avslutning.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] This looks more like a fruit beer than a stout, with a dark purple colour and a tight beige head; the aroma has chocolate powder and and cranberry; in the mouth it has a watery cranberry and malt taste; with a dusting of cocoa powder to finish. Odd.

Cask at the Ledger Building, JDW - Canary Wharf, London. Pours clear red-brown with a tight, creamy beige head. Pretty tasty, some dark fruits mucking about, smooth chocolate, soft roast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture; good nick. Semi-sweet finish, lightly earthy, more cocoa, dried fruits. Comes together well.
