Cock Tavern. Cask. Pretty close to a clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Skunk and ripe tropical fruits on the snout. Palate is light and smooth, fairly dry and has just modest carbonation. Sweet dry malts, some diacetyl milky sweetness. Hops are a mellow citrus and mild and ripe tropical fruits. Some spicy bitterness on the finish. Nose promised good stuff but the taste didn’t deliver.

Cask at the Cock - Hackney. Pours well clear gold with a small, creamy white head. Moderate ripe and jammy citrus in the aroma, some pale bread, melon. Medium sweet flavour with light piney bitterness, marmalade, faint grass, hay, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and oily texture. Finishes with a bit of piney resin, more ripe citrus, mild grassy bitterness. Not much to get excited about here, but it’s alright.
