Wakefield Beer Festival 2016. Golden coloured ale, strong and fairly sweet with a floralness too - most notably in its nose.

Hazy gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light, fairly dry and is finely crisp. Light dry pale malts, just a modicum of sweetness. Mild floralness that turns a little bitter. Light and pithy citrus and a little floral orange. Light dry finish. It’s okay but a bit dry and bitter. Five Towns have done much better IPAs.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Fairly hazy gold. Thin, messy, sticky, white head. Nose has a big NZ tang. White grape and gooseberry. Notes of lemon pith and zest. Hint of black pepper. Clean, dry malts. Taste is moderate, tangy bitter. Fairly drying. Minimal sweetness. Palate is clean and drying. Tangy, vinous bitter finish. Great stuff.
