Keg at source. Hazed but brown coloured pour with a fading off tan head. Aroma is nice smoke, caramel, pine needle, solid aroma. Flavour is composed if nutty malts, light wood and char, faint roast, pine needle and bitter roast in the finish. Pine needle. OK black IPA. Some rough and round the edge.

Keg at the Brewery. Almost opaque black - brown beer, thin pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and minerally crisp. Thin dark malts bring mild roast and a touch of cream. Good piney hops but also good orange - lemon and a little marmalade. Light crisp finish. Mildly bitter linger. Good CDA.

Keg at the brewery. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Lots of minerals in the nose, dry dark chocolate, earth. Light-medium sweet flavor with more flinty minerals, burnt toast, bittersweet chocolate, earth, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes dry, with more minerals, roast, cocoa, pithy and rindy grapefruit and orange. Good stuff overall.

Keg at the brewery. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. It pours black with a thick beige head. The nose is bitter - sweet, plum, damson, Dandelion & Burdock, candy, rocky road and sweet roast. The taste is smooth, bitter, roasted malt, charred pine, dirt, tar, dark chocolate, mild astringency, citrus rind, pepper and ash with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not bad.
