Penderel’s Oak Spoons. Cask. Clear amber beer, good cream coloured head. Palate is light, airy and slightly soft. Light creamy malt. Little toffee, not that sweet. Light and tangy dried fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Decent.

Cask at the moon under water Watford jdw. In a half pint dimpled mug, which makes me happy. Murky brown colour pour with a stodgy lasting off white head. Aroma is dusty brown malt, caramel. Flavour is dried fruit raisin and nutty caramel malt. Some green apple and raisin. Bit of a bite in the finish. Light sweetness. Grainy palatemrdium carbonation. OK.

Cask at George, Croydon. It pours deep mahogany brown with a medium beige head. The nose is wood, toffee, old leather armchair, leafy and some jammy strawberry in the background. The taste is wood, caramel, muffin, nice firm bitterness, earth, leather and resin with a dry, bitter finish. Good length. Medium body and soft carbonation. Well put together. Balanced and very drinkable. A nice example of the style.
