Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cloudy amber beer, residual off white head. Palate is light and dry. Very mild carbonation. Toffee sweet malt, but surprisingly thin. Big skunky and spicy hops. Light citrus, little grass. Light salty streak before the dry finish. Good!

(Gravity cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 25 Nov 2011. 4 years old) Dark reddish amber colour with brief head. Malty, fruity, vinous nose with cherries, raisins, red fruit and a touch of turpentine. Malty, fruity taste with notes of raisins, cherries in brandy, dried fruit, orange peel, brown sugar and a vinous finish with a certain alcohol bite. Almost full body, fairly sweet, with a moderate bitterness. Very nice and warming.
